Gambling self-exclusion in Alabama

Alabama: no self-exclusion program is recorded here yet. This is not everything in Alabama.

Reviewed 2026-09-30 against official sources. Every fact below links to the agency that published it. How we check facts.

Build my plan

The plan has no enrollment steps for Alabama yet. It still builds the steps that work anywhere: blockers on your phone and computer, calls to your bank and card issuers, and a credit freeze.

We list what we've confirmed. If a casino isn't here, we haven't found its program yet. That doesn't mean it has none.

Self-exclusion programs in Alabama 0

We haven't found a self-exclusion program for Alabama yet. The gambling types below show what we checked.

Gambling types in Alabama

One self-exclusion list rarely blocks every kind of gambling. Here is what we found for each type of gambling in this state.

commercial casino — land-based commercial casinosNo program foundWhat we checked: Alabama courts have repeatedly and explicitly held non-tribal 'electronic bingo' casino-style gambling to be illegal statewide under Ala. Code §13A-12-20(5).
Why

The Alabama Supreme Court's 2016 decision states directly that these rulings “remove any doubt that electronic bingo in all its forms is illegal in Alabama and that local law enforcement should do their duty to enforce the law.” The Attorney General's 2023 press release confirms a circuit court “permanently enjoin[ed] any facility in Macon County from offering ‘electronic bingo.’” No lawful non-tribal commercial casino currently operates in Alabama.

lotteryNo program foundWhat we checked: Section 65 of the Constitution of Alabama of 2022 bars the Legislature from authorizing any lottery in the state, so there is no lottery operator to exclude yourself from. This says nothing about bingo, raffles or racing.
Why

Alabama has no lottery and the Constitution forbids one. Section 65 of the Constitution of Alabama of 2022 reads: "The legislature shall have no power to authorize lotteries or gift enterprises for any purposes, and shall pass laws to prohibit the sale in this state of lottery or gift enterprise tickets, or tickets in any scheme in the nature of a lottery". The 2026 bill synopses restate it as current: SB257 ("the Legislature has no power to authorize lotteries or gift enterprises for any purposes") and HB448 ("lotteries and gift enterprises are prohibited"). Both bills would amend Section 65, which needs a ratified constitutional amendment; the 2026 session adjourned April 9, 2026 and the November 3, 2026 sample ballot carries four statewide amendments, none about lotteries or gaming. Limits: the final disposition of SB257 and HB448 was not read from a bill-status page, and the constitution PDF is the Legislature's 2022 recompilation. This rests on the Section 65 text, checked 2026-09-30. The 2016 Attorney General statement is cited only as history.

How we checked

These are the kinds of gambling we checked, and the list may not include every way to gamble in the state. Charity bingo exists only under several local constitutional amendments, each with its own requirements. We found no commercial card room and no self-exclusion at any bingo hall in those counties, so charitable gaming and card rooms stays unknown.

We found no confirmed self-exclusion program anywhere in Alabama, for any kind of gambling. Casino-style gambling outside tribal land is illegal. The Alabama Supreme Court and several circuit courts (Macon County as recently as 2023) have held "electronic bingo" machines to be illegal slot machines, so there is no lawful non-tribal commercial casino to exclude yourself from. VictoryLand's and Birmingham Race Course's own sites carry no responsible-gaming information. Alabama has no lottery, and the state Constitution forbids one. Wind Creek casinos, run by the Poarch Band of Creek Indians in Atmore, Wetumpka and Montgomery, are federally regulated tribal gaming outside state jurisdiction, as the Attorney General's 2016 letter confirms. We found no self-exclusion program there. The Wind Creek and Mobile Race Course pages publish only a helpline and a problem-gambling questionnaire, and the Poarch Tribal Gaming Commission publishes no self-exclusion policy or form. Fantasy sports contests are legal and regulated. Operators register with the Attorney General's Office, and state law requires each registered operator to let a player restrict themselves on request. The registration page describes no way for a player to do that. We found nothing on sports betting or racing self-exclusion either way, so those stay unresolved. We checked the official sources linked on this page, not every gambling option in the state.

If you also gamble outside Alabama

State lists stop at the state line. Some casino companies' own bans reach their properties elsewhere, and each program above says what it covers. If you also travel to nearby states to gamble, check their pages too:
