New Jersey: Atlantic City casinos, racetrack sportsbooks and online gambling

State regulator Run by New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.

One Division of Gaming Enforcement form covers Atlantic City casinos, racetrack sports wagering, internet casino gaming and online sports wagering. Choose the full tier on Form 70 for all of them, or the internet-only tier. Entering a racetrack to bet on horses, and horse wagering accounts, sit on a separate Racing Commission list; this form does not reach them.

Reviewed 2026-09-17 against official sources. Every fact below links to the page it came from. How we check facts.

What it blocks

Form 70 offers two tiers: Atlantic City casinos and racetrack sports wagering facilities together with internet gaming and online sports wagering; or internet activities only. One form covers every New Jersey casino, racetrack sportsbook and online operation at the chosen tier. It does not cover racetrack pari-mutuel entry, which is a separate NJ Racing Commission list, and no reviewed source establishes lottery or fantasy coverage.

Self-exclusion programs do not all block the same things. Here is what the official rules say about each one.

How to enroll, how long it lasts, and the sources

Terms you can choose

One year, five years or lifetime. Online routes offer only one or five years; lifetime requires an in-person or video appointment. Removal is not automatic: the name remains on the list until removal is requested, and a lifetime exclusion cannot be removed.

Sign up for the longest exclusion time you can. Future you will thank you. Lifetime is only available at an in-person or video appointment, booked on 1-833-788-4DGE (4343). The online routes offer one or five years.

When it ends

A fixed term continues until you request removal; a lifetime term has no published way to lift it.

A fixed term. The name remains on the list until the person requests removal; it does not lapse at the end of the chosen one or five year term. A lifetime exclusion cannot be removed at all.

A lifetime term. A lifetime exclusion cannot be removed at all. It is only available at an in-person or video appointment, not through the online routes.

How to enroll

Sign up on the Division's portal (one or five years).

The portal needs no appointment and offers one or five years. Choose Internet Gaming and Sports Wagering Self-Exclusion Registration for online casinos and sports betting apps; it needs your Social Security number. Choose Property Self-Exclusion Registration to add Atlantic City casinos and racetrack sportsbooks; it needs a camera. Lifetime is only available at an in-person or video appointment: call 1-833-788-4DGE (4343). The Division does not accept mailed forms.

  1. Open njportal.com/dge/selfexclusion and choose one or five years. Internet Gaming and Sports Wagering Self-Exclusion Registration covers online casinos and sports betting apps and needs your Social Security number. Property Self-Exclusion Registration adds Atlantic City casinos and racetrack sportsbooks and needs a camera.
  2. For a lifetime term, call 1-833-788-4343 to book an in-person appointment in Atlantic City or Trenton, or a video appointment on Microsoft Teams. Mail is refused. Review Form 70 first: you sign and initial every page in front of a Division representative, so do not sign it on your own. Bring identification that carries your signature and a photograph; the Division takes your photo. Published office hours differ between the form and the portal, so confirm when you book. We don't fill in or submit this form.
  3. Your name stays on the list until you ask the Division to remove it, and a lifetime term is not removable. No source states how the Division confirms your enrollment, so keep any confirmation the portal or the Division gives you.

Before you count on it. Resident and visitor eligibility is not established: any person may request placement, and no source addresses residency. Form 70 is not listed on the Division's forms index, so keep this link. Preparing the form, booking a call or opening the portal does not confirm enrollment.

Every route we checked

Routes that enroll you

  • In person — NJ DGE, Arcade Building, Tennessee Avenue and the Boardwalk, Atlantic City, NJ 08401

Internet gaming and online sports wagering tier only. One or five years. Social Security number required.
  • Online — https://www.njportal.com/DGE/SelfExclusion/PropertyOut/Instructions
Property plus internet tier. One or five years; camera required. The program page and FAQ list only internet-only online methods, so the portal offers a tier the program page does not describe.

All tiers and durations. Documents are submitted by encrypted email using instructions issued after booking; no public address is published for this.

Explicitly ruled out. The DGE FAQ asks 'Can I just mail back the completed application?' and answers 'No, you must schedule an appointment for either an in-person conference or video conference by calling 1-833-788-4DGE.' Checked again on 2026-09-17.

Routes that get you a form or an answer, not an exclusion

  • By email — selfexclusioninquiry@njdge.gov
Published for formal complaints about self-exclusion status. Not an enrollment route; no source offers email submission.
  • By phone — 1-833-788-4DGE (4343)
Appointment booking and assistance. Booking a call is not itself enrollment.
