Gambling self-exclusion in Wisconsin
Self-exclusion in Wisconsin: two of the three programs on record can enroll you. Wisconsin: Ho-Chunk Gaming self-exclusion, run by Ho-Chunk Nation, Gaming Enterprises Security Departments. First step: Open the form and sign it in person at a Ho-Chunk Gaming location. Wisconsin: Potawatomi Casino Hotel self-restriction. First step: Ask Security or Guest Relations at Potawatomi to enroll you. We hold no published route into the other one; it is named below with what it covers. None substitutes for another, and this is not everything in Wisconsin.

We list what we've confirmed. If a casino isn't here, we haven't found its program yet. That doesn't mean it has none.

Asking a program for a form or an answer does not enroll you.

| Wisconsin: Ho-Chunk Gaming self-exclusionTribal gaming commission Run by Ho-Chunk Nation, Gaming Enterprises Security Departments. | In person Open the form and sign it in person at a Ho-Chunk Gaming location. | Confirmed | Confirmed | Not confirmed | Not checked yet | Confirmed | Not confirmed | |
Before you count on it. The form names 'HCG-Wisconsin Gaming Enterprises' and does not list properties. Ho-Chunk's pages say the program covers 'any Ho-Chunk Gaming facility' and its home page lists seven locations, so ask the Security Director which locations your signed form covers. The form says the exclusion is permanent and irrevocable and describes no removal process. Ho-Chunk's own location pages say the program lasts 'a minimum of 12 months'. Nothing published says which is right, and nothing published describes an appeal. The form does address money and marketing. If you are caught playing, 'any winnings or prizes, including but not limited to jackpots, chips, tokens, machine credits, or ticket vouchers' are confiscated. You waive complimentary products and player-reward benefits you have earned. Ho-Chunk 'will take reasonable steps to remove my name from mailing lists and other means of marketing', and you agree to tell the marketing department if promotions keep coming. It does not address whether residents or visitors qualify, or what happens to credit or check-cashing privileges. It carries no notary block and does not say whether one is needed. No processing time or confirmation method is published. This is a Ho-Chunk Nation program — Wisconsin runs no statewide list, and this does not reach Potawatomi, Oneida, or any of the state's other gaming tribes.
| Wisconsin: Potawatomi Casino Hotel self-restrictionTribal gaming commission Run by Forest County Potawatomi Community — Potawatomi Casino Hotel, Milwaukee. | In person Ask Security or Guest Relations at Potawatomi to enroll you. | Not confirmed | Not confirmed | Not confirmed | Not checked yet | Confirmed | Not confirmed | |
Before you count on it. You have to do this in person: the page says 'self-restriction must be completed in person', so the Ban Inquiry Line at 414-847-7608 is a contact point and not a way to enroll, and a call is not a reason to treat yourself as restricted. What the enrollment requires of you and what confirms it are both unpublished — no processing time and no confirmation method are described — so ask staff what the NVSEP screen needs, and write down the date you finish. Removal is not automatic: the restriction renews each year until a written request is reviewed and approved by committee, and the page does not say where that request is sent. If you play anyway, jackpots and prizes are forfeited and donated to a charity management picks. Your Potawatomi Rewards card is deactivated and your address comes off their mailing lists. Whether residents or visitors qualify, how entry is enforced, and what happens to credit or check-cashing are not addressed. This covers Potawatomi Casino Hotel in Milwaukee only. Wisconsin runs no statewide list, and this does not reach Ho-Chunk, Oneida, or any of the state's other gaming tribes.

How we checked
These are the kinds of gambling we checked. The list may not include every way to gamble in the state.
Wisconsin has no statewide self-exclusion list. The Department of Administration's FAQ says patrons 'may also request a self-ban at most Wisconsin Tribal gaming facilities,' and names no single procedure or registry. Each of the 11 gaming tribes runs its own program, and we examined three. Ho-Chunk Gaming Wisconsin publishes a two-page downloadable form that you sign with a Security Officer as witness. The form says the exclusion is permanent and irrevocable and describes no removal route, but Ho-Chunk's own location pages call it a program for a minimum of 12 months, and two versions of the form are live. Potawatomi Casino Hotel requires you to complete the self-restriction in person, and it records it in the National Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program (NVSEP). Its Ban Inquiry Line starts a request but doesn't finish one. The term is a one-year minimum that renews automatically each year until a committee reviews and approves a written removal request. NVSEP's sign-up portal offers Wisconsin's tribal casinos as a jurisdiction, with no notary meeting, but no tribal source says a request sent that way is complete without the visit Potawatomi describes. Oneida Casino Hotel's Players Club rules confirm that a self-ban exists: a banned or self-banned member's account goes inactive and points keep expiring during the ban. We found no page saying how to request one, or any term or removal process, so we list no Oneida route. Oneida's sportsbook rules bar self-excluded patrons. We have not examined the other 8 gaming tribes individually. That is a gap in what we've read, and it doesn't mean those tribes have no program. Wisconsin has no non-tribal commercial casino: all Class III casino gaming is limited by compact to the 11 tribes. The state pages we read describe no online casino product, no self-exclusion option for lottery play and none for charitable gaming (raffles and bingo). Some tribal properties offer sports betting under compact amendments, and the State's Class III Gaming Locations map marks them with an asterisk as of September 30, 2025. Apart from Oneida, we don't know whether any tribe's program reaches its sportsbook. We checked the official sources linked on this page, not every gambling option or tribe in the state. We don't know yet whether people who live outside Wisconsin can use these programs.
How Wisconsin's programs fit together
Wisconsin has no statewide list, so you sign up with each tribal casino separately, and joining one doesn't cover the others.
Other programs we know about, with no details yet:
- Oneida Casino Hotel Self-Ban (Oneida Nation of Wisconsin): Oneida Casino Hotel; a self-ban is confirmed to exist, and self-excluded patrons are barred from its sportsbook and app, but no request route, term or removal process is published We have no record of its requirements yet.
What we know about each one
Each tribe runs its own program, and Wisconsin has no state list that reaches any of them. Ho-Chunk's route is a signed form delivered to one of its locations (its home page shows seven), with a Security Officer as witness. Potawatomi's phone line and in-person help are its stated way to start a restriction. Oneida confirms a self-ban exists but publishes no way to request one. Each program listed here is a separate sign-up, and joining one doesn't enroll you in the others. Together they don't cover all gambling in the state or all 11 gaming tribes.

If you also gamble outside Wisconsin
State lists stop at the state line. Some casino companies' own bans reach their properties elsewhere, and each program above says what it covers. If you also travel to nearby states to gamble, check their pages too:
