Gambling self-exclusion in Louisiana

Self-exclusion in Louisiana: one of the two programs on record can enroll you. Louisiana: casinos, racinos and sports wagering statewide. First step: Bring the completed form to a Gaming Field Office in person. We hold no published route into the other one; it is named below with what it covers. None substitutes for another, and this is not everything in Louisiana.

Reviewed 2026-09-24 against official sources. Every fact below links to the agency that published it. How we check facts.

We list what we've confirmed. If a casino isn't here, we haven't found its program yet. That doesn't mean it has none.

Before you count on it. This covers casino gaming and sports wagering only — not Louisiana's lottery, charitable gaming, Video Draw Poker Devices Control Law licensees (unless also licensed for sports wagering), fantasy sports operators (a separate per-operator process), or any tribal casino; tribal gaming here is regulated by compact, not by this Board. The exclusion lasts a minimum of five years and never lifts on its own — removal takes a written request, a hearing, and a Board decision, and even then an individual casino may still choose to bar you. Whether applicants from outside Louisiana are eligible is not established. Downloading or completing the form does not enroll you — enrollment only happens once you sign it in person at a Field Office.

Gambling types in Louisiana

One self-exclusion list rarely blocks every kind of gambling. Here is what we found for each type of gambling in this state.

online casino / iGamingNo program foundWhat we checked: Louisiana. The Attorney General says online casino, bingo, keno, iGaming and sweepstakes or social-gaming sites are operating illegally in the state, so no licensed online casino exists to exclude from. This does not cover unlicensed offshore sites a person may still reach.
Why

Attorney General Liz Murrill, 'AG Alerts Public to Illegal Online Casino Gambling', checked again 2026-10-01: 'online casino, bingo, keno, iGaming, and alleged sweepstakes or social gaming sites offering such games are operating illegally in Louisiana', and such platforms are 'illegal and not regulated by any Louisiana authority'. The Gaming Control Board's licensed-platforms page lists sports wagering and fantasy sports operators only. Exclusion applies to licensed products; the statewide list therefore has no online casino to cover.

Why

R.S. 27:27.1(M), checked again 2026-10-01: 'Except for the provisions of Subsection I of this Section, the provisions of this Section shall not apply to persons licensed pursuant to the provisions of the Video Draw Poker Devices Control Law ... unless also licensed pursuant to the provisions of the Louisiana Sports Wagering Act'. Subsection N tells the Board to adopt rules for 'a uniform compulsive and problem gambling program' for those licensees. That is a separate program; no source read says it includes a patron self-exclusion list.

card roomsNo program foundWhat we checked: La. R.S. 14:90's closed list of lawful gaming and the Gaming Control Board's regulations under LAC Title 42: a poker room exists only as a department of a licensed riverboat or the land-based casino, already inside the statewide Voluntary Exclusion Program. No standalone card-room license category exists.
Why

Louisiana licenses no card room as a category of its own. The gambling statute's closed list of lawful gaming names conducting a gaming activity upon a riverboat, at the official land-based establishment, by operating an electronic video draw poker device, by a charitable gaming licensee, at a pari-mutuel wagering facility, or at an eligible horse racing facility running slot machines — no card room. The Gaming Control Board's own rules regulate a poker room as a department inside a licensed riverboat or the land-based casino, not as a separate license class: cards used in a poker room must be distinguishable from the casino's other table-game cards, the same chapter that governs those table games generally. Poker inside a licensed casino is already inside the statewide Voluntary Exclusion Program's reach.

How we checked

These are the kinds of gambling we checked in Louisiana. Five are still unresolved because official sources don't settle them.

Louisiana has one statewide self-exclusion list, run jointly by the Gaming Control Board and the State Police Gaming Enforcement Division. The law names what it covers: all licensed riverboat casinos, the official New Orleans land-based casino, the casinos at pari-mutuel racing facilities, and both retail and online sports betting platforms. You enroll in person at one of five Gaming Field Offices; mail isn't accepted. The minimum term is five years. Coming off the list is never automatic: it takes a written request, a hearing and a Board decision, and none of that can happen before five years have passed. Video Draw Poker Devices Control Law licensees are exempt unless they are also licensed for sports wagering. Fantasy sports operators fall under a separate state requirement that each operator meets on its own, and there is no central state list for them. Tribal casinos are regulated by compact, not by the Board. Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel's promotion rules mention a casino '86 exclusion list' and a separate Chitimacha Tribal Gaming Commission exclusion list, but only to bar people from the casino's own promotions. We don't know whether either list also works as a self-exclusion you can request, and we found no published enrollment process for either. We don't know whether people who live outside Louisiana can enroll. We checked the official sources linked on this page, not every gambling option in the state.

How Louisiana's programs fit together

Louisiana has one statewide list, which covers casinos, racinos and sports betting; tribal casinos are regulated separately by compact.

Other programs we know about, with no details yet:

  • Chitimacha Tribal Gaming Commission Exclusion List (Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel): Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel (Chitimacha) — a casino '86 exclusion list' and a separate Commission exclusion list, both confirmed to exist but only as promotion-ineligibility mechanisms in the casino's own rules; whether either functions as a voluntary self-exclusion program is unresolved, no published enrollment address, email or process exists for either, the recipient for a completed request is unverified, and the Commission's general contact number is not confirmed as an intake line, so this plan holds no confirmed way to send it yet We have no record of its requirements yet.
What we know about each one

The statewide list is the broad route, covering every commercial and racino casino plus sports betting. Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel (Chitimacha) has its own exclusion lists, which the statewide list doesn't reach. The only use we found for them is keeping people out of the casino's promotions, so we don't know whether either is a self-exclusion you can request, and we have no confirmed way to send a request. Signing up for all of them still doesn't cover every way to gamble in the state.

Official Louisiana links and forms

These are the primary sources this page is built from: agency program pages, statutes, regulations and the forms themselves. How we check facts explains what each label means.

If you also gamble outside Louisiana

State lists stop at the state line. Some casino companies' own bans reach their properties elsewhere, and each program above says what it covers. If you also travel to nearby states to gamble, check their pages too:
