Reviewed 2026-09-24 against official sources. Every fact below links to the agency that published it. How we check facts.

We list what we've confirmed. If a casino isn't here, we haven't found its program yet. That doesn't mean it has none.

Before you count on it. Mailing or emailing a completed form does not enroll you. The MGC accepts a form only from a designated enrolling agent or through its remote video enrollment. Printing the form, filling it in and sending it does not put you on the list. The iLottery track is running: the State Lottery's own page says Mass Lottery Online players can opt in. One sentence each on the MGC's and PlayWell's pages still says "when it launches", so ask for iLottery by name. It stops deposits, online ticket purchases and online play. You can still withdraw your account balance and use retail features such as ticket scanning. Lottery tickets bought over the counter are explicitly not excludable under any track. First Light Resort & Casino in Taunton is not on this list; the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe's 2013 compact requires its gaming enterprise to run a voluntary self-exclusion process, and no public way to enroll in one is published on the casino's site, the Tribal Gaming Commission's regulations, or the MGC's pages. Daily fantasy sports sits under a separate regulation that makes each operator run its own procedure, and there is no statewide list for it. Online casino play appears nowhere on the MGC's licensee roster. No source reviewed says it is illegal either. No residency rule is published, so whether someone from out of state can enroll is unresolved. No processing time is published. On the Gaming track you forfeit winnings and rewards, you cannot recover losses, and the casinos suspend your credit and check cashing. On iLottery the Lottery will not pay winnings from play it should have blocked, and you cannot recover those losses. An individual operator may choose to extend your exclusion to everything it offers; the program does not guarantee that.

Gambling types in Massachusetts

One self-exclusion list rarely blocks every kind of gambling. Here is what we found for each type of gambling in this state.

Why

Checked 2026-09-24 and again 2026-10-01. PlayWell's FAQ states: "There is currently no option to exclude oneself from being able to purchase lottery tickets at retail locations." That is an explicit official statement of absence, scoped to retail and in-person lottery purchases. Online iLottery is a separately electable VSE track, and an iLottery enrollee keeps retail features such as ticket scanning and remote ticket cashing.

How we checked

These are the kinds of gambling we checked. The list may not include every way to gamble in the state.

Massachusetts has one statewide program, Voluntary Self-Exclusion (VSE), run by the Gaming Commission. It has three tracks you can choose separately: Gaming (the three licensed casinos, including their pari-mutuel and simulcasting areas), Sports Wagering (retail and online or mobile), and iLottery (the State Lottery's online platform only). Retail lottery ticket purchases can't be excluded. The iLottery track is running, according to the State Lottery's responsible-gaming page and its iLottery VSE terms (effective July 27, 2026), although one sentence each on the Commission's and PlayWell's pages still says 'when it launches'. You can enroll by phone, by 24-hour online chat, in person at a PlayWell Info Center or the Commission's Boston office, or in a scheduled remote video appointment. The Commission won't accept completed forms by mail or email. Coming off the list is never automatic. After the term you chose (1, 3 or 5 years, or lifetime), you need a reinstatement session with a designated agent before a removal petition can be approved. Daily fantasy sports fall under a separate Attorney General regulation that makes each company run its own self-exclusion, so there is no state list for it. The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe's 2013 compact requires its casino to run a voluntary self-exclusion process, but we found no public way to enroll on the tribe's casino site, in the Tribal Gaming Commission's regulations or on the Gaming Commission's pages. Online casino gambling doesn't appear on the Commission's list of licensees, and that silence is not an official statement that it is illegal. We don't know whether people who live outside Massachusetts can enroll. We checked the official sources linked on this page, not every way to gamble in the state.

How Massachusetts' programs fit together

Massachusetts has one statewide program, run by the Gaming Commission, with separate choices for casinos, sports betting and online lottery, and you can pick all three in one visit.

What we know about each one

Casinos, sports betting and online lottery are three choices inside one Voluntary Self-Exclusion enrollment, and you can pick all three in one visit. Daily fantasy sports has no shared list because each company runs its own, and the tribal casino's required process has no public way to enroll that we found. Signing up for all of them still doesn't cover every way to gamble in the state.

These are the primary sources this page is built from: agency program pages, statutes, regulations and the forms themselves. How we check facts explains what each label means.

If you also gamble outside Massachusetts

State lists stop at the state line. Some casino companies' own bans reach their properties elsewhere, and each program above says what it covers. If you also travel to nearby states to gamble, check their pages too:
