theScore Bet (formerly ESPN Bet) — self-exclusion across Penn Entertainment
The company’s own exclusion Run by PENN Entertainment, Inc. (theScore Bet).
ESPN Bet no longer exists; Penn Entertainment's US sportsbook is theScore Bet. One self-exclusion blocks you from theScore Bet in every state, and in most states also from Hollywood Casino online and Penn's physical casinos. You start it in the app or through support. Lengths depend on the state, from one year up to permanent, and the request asks for your full Social Security number. Penn's help center lists each state's own list separately; it does not say its exclusion puts you on one.
What it blocks
- Entering the property. In most state sections the exclusion covers Penn's "physical casinos for the specified time period selected." Colorado, Indiana, Iowa and Pennsylvania sections do not say so.
- Online play. "you will not be permitted to place a bet with theScore Bet ... in any jurisdiction and all open bets will be cancelled."
- Marketing and mailings. During the period "you will not receive any email or texts from us other than to confirm the self-exclusion process."
Terms you can choose
Vary by state, e.g. Arizona "one-year, five-year or 10 year", Colorado "one-year, three-year, or five-years", Kentucky "one-year, five-year, or lifetime", New Jersey "one-year, or five-year". The general tools page lists "a 6-month, one year, five year or permanent break."
When it ends
Not verified.
For Penn's own exclusion, what happens at the end of a timed period is not stated. Where the exclusion is a state list, removal follows the state (for example, Massachusetts: you remain on the list until you request removal through the Commission and complete a reinstatement session).
How to enroll
Open theScore Bet’s self-exclusion steps.
You self-exclude inside the signed-in theScore Bet app. The help page lists each state’s steps. Opening it changes nothing.
- Sign in to the theScore Bet app.
- Tap the Profile icon, then Responsible Gaming, then Self Exclusion.
- Pick a length. The request asks for your full Social Security number.
- Write down the date and any confirmation you get.
Before you count on it. Keep the state steps in your plan. Whether this reaches your state’s own list depends on the state, and most apps don’t say.
Every route we checked
Routes that enroll you
- Online — theScore Bet app, signed in: Profile icon, Responsible Gaming, Self Exclusion
The state-by-state help article (readable without signing in) links each state's request to the in-app Self Exclusion screen and lists what it asks for. The screen itself is behind sign-in and was not seen.
Routes that get you a form or an answer, not an exclusion
- By email — support@thescore.bet
theScore Bet's support address. Penn's help pages name it for support, including withdrawals during a cool-off; none says a self-exclusion is accepted by email.
Requirements and sources
Sources read 2026-10-05. These are the program's requirements, not a record of anyone's enrollment.
- What it covers
- "If a player enrolls in our self-exclusion program, that player will be excluded from betting with us in all jurisdictions where theScore Bet is available." Most state sections add: "This exclusion will prevent you from accessing this or any other PENN Entertainment, Inc. owned or operated online real money gaming product and physical casinos for the specified time period selected." (The Colorado, Indiana, Iowa and Pennsylvania sections lack that sentence.) Several sections also say anyone who enrolls in any exclusion program, or is on a state list, in a jurisdiction where Penn runs a casino "is banned from all PENN Entertainment, Inc. gaming facilities nationwide." theScore Bet is the brand Penn uses where it formerly ran ESPN Bet; espnbet.com no longer loads (checked 2026-10-05). The help center lists each state's own list as a separate route and never says a theScore Bet exclusion puts you on one.
